Communities across Liberia continue to face profound social, economic, and spiritual challenges. These realities directly affect families, churches, and the pastors who serve them faithfully. LEADLiberia exists to confront these challenges with hope-filled, sustainable solutions that strengthen communities from the ground up.
A. Economic Hardship & Social Impact
The limited capacity of government systems to provide meaningful employment has resulted in widespread economic hardship. As families struggle to survive, children of school age are often unable to attend school, while issues such as prostitution, drug use, and crime continue to rise. LEADLiberia is committed to mitigating these challenges through long-term, sustainable initiatives that create opportunity rather than dependence.
B. Poverty Affecting Pastors & Rural Ministries
Abject poverty caused by chronic unemployment disproportionately affects pastors and ministries in rural communities. Many pastors are forced to divide their time between ministry and survival—burning charcoal, tapping rubber, or engaging in subsistence farming simply to provide for their families. As a result, they are often unable to devote sufficient time to prayer, study, and pastoral preparation, weakening both their effectiveness and the health of their congregations.
C. Overwhelming Human Need
The depth of need within the communities we serve places constant strain on limited financial resources. When families lack food, children are unable to attend school, or individuals fall ill, it becomes nearly impossible to turn away. Meeting immediate needs is a moral responsibility—but without sustainable systems in place, these demands frequently stretch ministries beyond their capacity.
E. Access to Safe Drinking Water
Safe drinking water continues to be a critical challenge in many of the communities we visit and serve. Despite the efforts of international partners, significant gaps remain. These gaps contribute to preventable health issues and ongoing hardship, underscoring the need for continued intervention and locally sustainable solutions.
D. Resource Shortages
Our work is further challenged by shortages of essential resources, including trained volunteers and ministry materials. Access to Bibles, teaching resources, and discipleship tools remains limited, especially in remote areas, hindering effective spiritual growth and leadership development.
… A Path Forward!
Each of these challenges reinforces the urgent need for integrated, sustainable approaches that address both spiritual and practical needs. Through initiatives like SEED, LEADLiberia seeks not only to respond to crisis—but to build lasting resilience, dignity, and hope within the communities God has called us to serve.
How you can Partner with us in 2026…
To move from relief to long-term sustainability, LEADLiberia is inviting partners to join us in building solutions that create lasting impact—economically, socially, and spiritually.
Financial Partnership: Cultivating Sustainability
A key step toward sustainability is the launch of a 25-acre cassava cultivation project designed to produce local staple foods such as Gari and Fufu. This initiative will not only address food security, but also generate ongoing income to support pastors, ministries, and local communities.
Initial cultivation investment: $34,000
Projected first-year income: $62,000
Future growth: With value-added processing in year two, income potential is expected to double
This project will provide employment, strengthen local food systems, and create a reliable, indigenous source of financial support for ministry—reducing dependency while increasing resilience.
Volunteer Opportunities: Serve Alongside Us
In addition to financial support, we are seeking short-term volunteers willing to serve for six months to one year. Volunteers play a vital role in training, mentorship, agricultural development, discipleship, and community engagement. Your time and skills can help equip local leaders and accelerate sustainable growth on the ground.
Join the Work God Is Building
Whether through giving or serving, your partnership helps plant solutions that last—strengthening pastors, empowering communities, and advancing the Gospel through sustainable impact.
